Eliud Kipchoge breaks his own world record at Berlin marathon

The two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge has bettered his own world record by 30 seconds at the Berlin Marathon. The Kenyan star clocked a time of two hours, one minute and nine seconds to beat his previous men’s world record time of 2:01:39 set on the same course in 2018.

Kipchoge has now won 15 of his 17 career marathons, including two Olympic titles and 10 major championships. Eliud Kipchoge breaks men’s marathon world record by 30 seconds in Berlin Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya reinforced his reputation as arguably the best marathoner when he broke his own world record by 30 seconds at the Berlin Marathon. The 37-year-old Kenyan’s 2:01:09 was a significant improvement on his 2:01:39 in Berlin four years ago. In the first 2 kilometers, Kipchoge was helped by Noah Kipkemboi and Moses Koech, who ran at their pace.

A happy Eliud said: “No limits, after 38k I knew I could break the world record. The conditions were excellent, as was the organization of the event. I am very happy with today and I am impressed with the fans and their support”.

Before Sunday’s marathon, it was expected that Kipchoge would officially enter the record books as the first marathon under two hours. Kipchoge’s course and class seemed possible, but this time it was not.
The Berlin Marathon course is considered the fastest in the world because of its flat, smooth course. Kipchoge’s record on Sunday was the 12th time the marathon world record has been set in Berlin. Three of them were women.

Almost Decided To Quit Wrestling After Tokyo Olympics: Vinesh Phogat

Almost decided to quit wrestling after Tokyo Olympics: Vinesh Phogat

When the Indian contingent met at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence, Vinesh Phogat told PTI news agency that she nearly quit wrestling after her disappointment at the Olympics. She also praised PM Modi for motivating her to do it all over again.

A knee injury in the quarterfinals dashed her hopes in 2016 Rio Olympics. Despite of World No. 1 ranking in her weight category, Vinesh again crashed out in quarterfinals stage of Tokyo Olympics. Vinesh said her last two disappointments brought her to the brink of quitting wrestling, long before she reinvented herself with a gold medal at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Vinesh told PTI that “Definitely, you can say that (Vinesh 2.0 reloaded). I have managed to cross a big mental barrier. I almost gave up wrestling because in 2 Olympics I couldn’t win a medal. Olympics is the biggest stage for any athlete. But my family always backed me, they always trust in my abilities.”

“When I was low, I met Modi ji (PM Narendra Modi) and he gave me motivation. He said ‘we trust you and you can do it’. That reignited the spark in me.”

Vinesh also added that the support she got from her family, friends and fans also kept her motivated to keep going.

“Since childhood I like sports. I always play from my heart, I don’t have any pressure from anyone. I feel happy when I win. I always have the passion to win. My family is always supportive of what I am doing,” -Star wrestler said.

“After you win everybody is behind you, but when you get the support after losing it matters a lot, and I have got that from my family, fans and well-wishers after Tokyo.” She said for any athlete nothing is bigger than getting rewards for hard work.

“The most important thing for an athlete is to replicate the thing on the mat which you did in training. I couldn’t do that in Tokyo and I am still very sad about it. But the hard work I have put in the last one year, the way I have managed myself, I wanted to prove myself. The support which I got from all quarters was also at the back of the mind, I can’t disappoint myself.”

“Some people whom I have never met, never knew them, they supported me, backed me, I just thought I have to rise again for them. They are the ones who has been backing my wresting career and I owe them everything.” – Vinesh said.

Athlete Loses Race in Colombia After His Penis Came Out in The Middle of The Run

Embarrassing Scenes After Italian Runner’s P*nis Comes Out in Middle of a Race

An athlete lost a 400-meter race at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships due to a wardrobe malfunction. 18-year old Alberto Nonino, who hails from Italy, was competing in the 400-meter of decathlon in Cali, Colombia when the incident took place.

Alberto Nonino started off extremely well by gaining pace against his competitors, leaving the bystanders under the impression that he might win the race with quite ease. However, after Nonino passed the middle lane, he looked uncomfortable and kept reaching down to hold his crotch a couple of times. At the time, viewers did not know what went wrong, but Nonino’s pace decreased a tad bit, allowing his competitors to overtake him. The athlete, unfortunately, finished last with a time record of 51.57 seconds.

After completing the race, Nonino went to social media to explain that he wasn’t in the laughing mood after the race.

Nonino said on Instagram. “I’m conscious it was obviously an accident and I’d like to tell you I’m aware of the reaction and you don’t need to send me the links to the blogs out there. I’m trying to laugh about it now but immediately afterwards I felt terrible and I’m thankful to my friends and family for helping me get over what happened a few hours later.
